Florida Biodiesel, Inc. has released the Cyclonic Mixer, an inline high shear blender that is 100 times more effective in mixing feedstock and catalyst for the transesterification of Biodiesel. This new technology can lower the Methanol requirements of Biodiesel plants by 5%.
Methanol the most costly chemical used in the transesterification of feedstock into Biodiesel has been used in excess to push the chemical reaction to completion. Biodiesel production facilities have had to employ expensive Methanol recovery apparatus to remove excess Methanol. Alternative Biofuel production facilities can employ the Cyclonic Mixer, a passive device requiring no power or maintenance to enhance their chemical mixing capabilities, reducing Methanol requirements to 18%. Each Cyclonic Mixer is custom engineered to order, comes in a range of sizes and housings to suite the most demanding requirements, and is ideal for all sized Biodiesel operations.
“The Florida Biodiesel, Inc. Cyclonic Mixer is a significant advance in Biodiesel technology. Our inline high shear blender can reduce the amount of Methanol required for Biodiesel transesterification to 18% ,” says W. Gehrs President of Florida Biodiesel, Inc. “The resulting 2% – 5% savings in Methanol expenses can make a real difference in a Biodiesel production plant’s bottom-line.”
